The School Board oversees the contract we have with Fairfax County to manage our schools.  To ensure they remain the envy of the nation, I will ask the tough questions and hold those responsible for keeping our schools strong accountable.  I will use my personal experience – as a parent; the husband and son of public school teachers; a former official in the Office of Management at the U.S. Department of Education; and as a local volunteer and activist – to preserve programs that matter to our families, maintain our high standards, and to keep our community fully informed of decisions that impact our children so that we can hear your concerns.” – Jim Kaplan
